BRRR!

Blast and damnation it's cold out here!!! All weekend it's been well below zero in the Northland. The vehicles have all started though so in that we have been lucky :)

WIth them starting I made my way to Michaels and picked up some Cotton Tots to knit up some dishclothes with. I joined a KAL and am enjoying the heck out of it! ah heck - I joined a few but am slowly getting my feet wet and the dishclothes seemed a fun easy way to do that.

I should have the first one done either today or tomorrow - stupid appts

Elsewhere in the world:
The pup is growing and her little bark and growl are so cute... except at 4am. lol

My house is coming along. I'm fretting over paint colors right now. The front wall is slate so that is a focus wall... darn designers lol So... I have to find something that goes with that.. the green granite island counter - the paler green main counter and the redish wood flooring... not to mention the craftroom and bedroom that all connect somehow. *nightmare*

Thanks again for reading. If anyone has any ideas about decorating around slate PLEASE let me know!

shopping and BMF

While picking up yarn this weekend, there was a class going on in what seemed beginner sock knitting. I was off in the baskets of yarn and what do I hear but word of the Blue Moon bank fiasco :) Even those beginner knitters were hearing about it way up north here.

We stick together. who else would stick with us? lol

off to work on the puppy sweater - the way the weather has been around here we will have our spring thaw in a few weeks... this is insane! I want my winter back!!! where's the snow? the beautiful but deadly ice on the trees?!

Winter Finally

The weather finally turned a bit colder! It almost seems like January. That 30 degree stuff was getting kind of old although I hope the below zero stuff doesn't stay around too long with the small amount of snow we have.

Knitting is progressing. Ah hell... so is yarn shopping :) Picked up a few sock skeins yesterday - a couple of skeins for a small shawl and some mohair for gauntlets for me. I also picked up my umbrella swift that I've been wanting :) All in all a good shopping day!

I also grabbed a few books while I was out. I"m trying to find as many different kinds of toes and heels for socks that I can find. In the process I found a couple of dog knit books and promptly grabbed some of that mohair and some pink baby yarn and am making Mia a new dress lol Roger asked if all dogs have such wardrobes hehe she's just spoiled :)

The afghan is coming right along - got a few more rows done on it last night watching my DVDs. I'll probably do the same tonight after we get take out chinese.

Happy knitting!

The new year ushered in...

The new year starts witha medical bang.
The hands - numb
The shoulder - hurts like hell
The hip - burcitis
*sigh*

And a wee bit of fluff :)

Still working on a name but she has proved to be a very small but fun crafty pup :) She nestled right into the afghan I"m working on making it darned hard to flip :) I'll have to take a pic :) She kind of gets lost.

As far as the knitting goes, I've been working on that afghan - it's so warm and soft!! I'm also cruising other blogs for ideas

pictures soon

wild white wilderness!

What a gorgeous day!! We woke up to about 4-6" of beautiful white snow!! Had to take the wheelers out and got some pics

I'm enjoying the photography and like my little coolpix but envy Rog his Nikon :) oh well!

I did manage to get a few ore rows done on the afghan while riding around though. It's growing and may be destined to be one of the FINISHED PROJECTS instead of one in a bag somewhere :)

Hope the New Year started out good for everyone!
