Apple Fest weekend!

The day dawned rather dismal but not as bad as those before it. We did debate on whether or not to go to the apple festival - it's a tradition to go... it's cold and wet out...
Tradition won :)

The drive wasn't bad; the colors aren't out like they usually are. With so little rainfall this year the trees aren't turning red - just a lot of yellow and brown if they turned at all.

We got a bit of a late start but when we got there everything was going full tilt. The carnival rides for hte kids were running and the vendors still had wares (which I was afraid they wouldn't!) We started by hitting the candy / bake shop looking for the apple bars we got last year. No such luck though. We did pick up some fudge though. It's very good stuff!

Made our way through the crowds, stopping for a corndog along the way. We managed to grab 3lb of fresh cranberries. Also found our hats :) Roger and I each got a new one and we got hats for the WA kids that will be here at Christmas.

The vendors were pretty good although I missed the copper guy that I got my roses from last year. It was pretty muddy though walking around so I'm very happy we didn't take a dog with. Pushing the puppy stroller would have been a pain.

After about 3-4 hours of roaming around we headed out but not before hitting the bakery again to get pie. They didn't have any baked for sale but they did have take and bake!! How perfect! Now we get good hot pie at home :)

Over all it was a good day - nice shopping - good food - and I even got to knit on the road and work on my Clapotis :)
